Rainbow Fidget Slug

Good colour, texture, sound, shape and size!

I'm an adult woman with Asperger's. For a start, I like the fact it's a slug, that's unusual. I can find bright colours a bit much sometimes, but the matt finish of this plastic stops it being too reflective, so I find this comfortable to look at. The plastic feels smooth, but doesn't stick to the skin, even if I've been holding it for a while. There is a nice dent under the slug's chin that fits my thumb pleasingly. The overall size and shape is good for an adult hand. The fastest part fits well in my palm, and although I my fingers don't reach all the way around, I have a good grip. I believe that a child would be able to hold the head or tail easily. The sound is very good; hollow clacky noises made by the segments knocking together as it moves. The end of the tail gives high notes like pistachio shells, with lower notes from larger segments. It's of the same ilk as gently tapping coconut halves together, but not as deep. Overall the toy feels sturdy. I would wipe clean rather than submerge in water as I think it would be difficult to dry properly. My only quibble is that fact I couldn't choose the colour of the face. I'm not fond of faces in general, (seems to be an autistic spectrum trait) so a colour I find most comfortable to look helps. I'm 37 now, so will not reject a perfectly good slug because it's face is pink, but 4 year old me might have, so could be worth noting if your buying for an autistic child that the selection is random.
