The Pro Solar Panama 800mm PIR Solar Bollard Light is a robust, high-performance solar lighting solution designed for commercial, public realm and high-end domestic applications. Combining durable construction, efficient solar charging and intelligent motion-sensor operation, it is an ideal choice for pathways, landscaped areas, entrances and perimeter lighting where reliable illumination and simple installation are essential.
Manufactured from die-cast aluminium with a high-impact polycarbonate lens, the Panama is built for long-term outdoor use and offers excellent resistance to impact and weathering. Its carefully designed internal reflector and detailed diffuser help to deliver an even, controlled light output, while the glare shield top reduces upward light spill for a more comfortable and refined lighting effect.
The fitting uses high-output daylight white Epistar LEDs to produce up to 240 lumens, providing effective illumination with a long LED lifespan of up to 50,000 hours. Power is supplied by a substantial monocrystalline solar panel, offering excellent charging performance and a service life of up to 25 years, paired with a replaceable LiFePO4 lithium battery for dependable long-term operation.
A built-in PIR motion sensor with up to an 8 metre detection range enhances both security and energy efficiency. The bollard operates at a reduced output before increasing to 100% brightness when motion is detected, then returning to 50% output after 30 seconds. The integrated Active Smart Power System (ASPS) further protects battery life by automatically reducing light output when battery voltage is low, helping to maintain illumination for longer during periods of poor weather.
The Panama is a practical alternative to mains-powered bollards, with no cabling required, making installation simple, safe and flexible. It is also environmentally friendly and free to run, converting natural sunlight into stored electrical energy for night-time use.
For best performance, correct placement is essential. Solar bollards should always be installed in positions where the panel receives as much direct sunlight as possible throughout the day, avoiding shaded locations such as beneath trees, close to buildings, or in areas obstructed by walls, fencing or dense planting.
The Panama comes complete with a surface mount base for fixing onto a suitable solid surface. There is also the option of J-bolts for setting into concrete or a ground spike kit for installation into soft ground, allowing flexibility to suit different site conditions. Instruction Manual
