Professional Heavy Duty E27 Festoon Belt Description
These festoon lights are of a commercial grade quality, with thick rubber cable strings and suitable for professional use, they can also be used for domestic use when used by competent people who will take care to not exceed the ratings of the festoon cables or power supply. The cables are fitted with 16A plug (think the blue round caravan or boat plugs), if you are wanting to use them at home a with a 3pin UK Plug Socket, you will also need a 13A UK plug 16A female cable. Please seek advice from an electrician if you are unsure!
These cables DO NOT include the bulbs, each lamp holder holds a rubber seal making it suitable for use with most E27 bulbs. The festoon belts are available at 25 metres long with 25 bulb holders spaced 1 metre apart, and 100 metres long with 33 bulb holders spaced 3 metres apart.
The number of belts you can connect together depends on the wattage of bulbs you are using. You can use 3000W of bulbs altogether from a single plug, so for example if you used our 5W bulbs in our 25 metre set, each cable would be using 25 x 5W, so 125W, therefore you could connect 24 sets together, giving an overall length of 600 metres! Or with our 10W bulbs, 25 x 10W = 250W, so 12 sets together giving a 300 metre length. With the 100 metre lengths you could use 33 x 5W using 165W per 100m length, allowing you to string 18 sets together, giving over a mile of light from one plug!
Why not use with cool white bulbs in 5W or 10W versions for differing brightness, or go with warm white for a softer, more atmospheric tone?
Being a heavy duty festoon light, you may need to support the cables, as they are much heavier than regular fairy lights there are two 6mm holes in each lamp holder to hook or to screw to cables, masonry, guttering etc.
