Stella McCartney Brings Glow to Sportswear

Established and leading fashion designer Stella McCartney has been designing a successful sports wear range for leading brand adidas for some time now and has just been named by adidas as Olympic Creative Director in charge of designing Team GB’S 2012 Olympic athletics kit.

Quite a feat, however the Olympics are still some way off and we’re much more interested in her latest running range for adidas that glows in the dark!

The range features a head to toe outfit including a glow in the dark jacket, running shorts and running shoes. Stella says "When you are running in an urban environment, you need to feel safe, when people can see you coming and stand out, especially in winter when it gets dark earlier."

The designs use funky leopard print to add fun and femininity to the running gear, and it’s the actual print that glows in the dark to achieve a stunning effect. The range also includes cute glow in the dark retro keyrings featuring the classic smiley face, Stella continues "We used it (glow in the dark technology) on a leopard print, so it’s not so masculine and graphic.

We also have glow-in-the-dark key rings which have a nice sense of humour, which you can have if you are a man, a woman, or a kid."

The range looks fabulous and really shows how glow in the dark materials can be used to produce fantastic clothing that looks stylish and also helps to keep you safe, as well as being extremely fun of course!
