Beauty worth the wait!

I know this lamp takes a little longer than conventional lamps to heat up, but I put it on as soon as I get in from work and by the time I've usually finished eating dinner and am ready to relax or get on with something else, it's heating up nicely.
I've waited quite a few weeks for the red-purple-blue one to arrive back in stock - and I have to say it was worth the wait! I do agree that the blue/purple does not hold for long enough in the sequence of colours, but I can pause it! The colours it does go through are vivid or deep and are simply gorgeous.
I didn't find it difficult to turn off after a very short amount of practice, and I wouldn't be without it now. One of the best things I've ever bought - I'm in love!!!

I brought this for my baby sister and she loves it, although it takes a while to heat up, the colours are so so vivid. I have to blue one which is very good and the fact that it never over heats is very good, and very safe for younger children. The amount of effort which has gone into this is evident, and it is well worth £84.99! Great Product, and I'd definitely buy more of your products!

It is slow to heat up but that's fine. I have the yellow green and if I was to nit pick I'd say that it could have stayed on the green colours a little longer. I do find the button thing a little tricky though. It has a bit of a delay so I'm not sure if it has registered my touch or not making it a little tricky to select the exact colour I would like. sometimes I touch it and nothing happens. On the whole though I am enjoying my Smart Astro.

Takes forever to heat up (1-2 hours), blue doesn't display very long in the cycle, hard to switch off (need to press and hold the button for an exact amount of seconds).

We're sorry to hear you weren't happy with your Mathmos Smart Astro Lava Lamp. Lava lamps work by gently warming the wax causing it rise through the bottle; it cools at the top thus causing it to fall back down again creating the hypnotic effect. The new Mathmos Smart Astro uses LED's to achieve this process, and to give the new, funky colour change effect which means that the wax does take marginally longer than a standard lava lamp to heat through.
The Smart Astro is a colour change lava lamp which makes it unique and different from standard Astro Lava Lamps and so it doesn't hold on to one colour for too long, but rather phases through. A feature of the lamp is the press and hold function which allows you to switch between colour change effects or to hold on your favourite colour giving the classic lava lamp effect. This function is achieved by pressing and holding for a set amount of time, this also applies to turning the lamp off.
