The Astro Lava Lamp is the original Lava Lamp designed in the 1960's
Inspired by an egg timer that he had seen in a country pub, Edward Craven Walker invented the Astro in 1963. The Mathmos Astro Lava Lamp has stood the test of time and has become a design classic and is more popular now than in its 60's heyday. The Mathmos Asto lava lamp is still manufactured on the original site in Poole UK
The Astro Lava Lamp simply looks good anywhere.

Good, but could be better

The lamp is iconic and does exactly what you expect it to. However our arrived with a broken bulb and the quality, specifically how the lamp sits in its base could be slightly more solid. However I suppose the acid test is that we're thinking of buying another one.
The Glow Company Says: Hi Richard, Sorry to hear that your lava lamp arrived with a broken bulb. If you get in touch, we'll do our best to help with any problems.

Bought this to replace my previous mathmos lamp which lasted 15 years. It is gorgeous but not very secure - with 2 kids and 2 dogs now, I'm not convinced this one will last as long!!
The best
