Description
The latest Mathmos lamp is the ingenious Airswitch TC is turned on and off by passing your hand horizontally through the air above the product. Who needs switches anyway!
The AIRSWITCH TC is the latest Mathmos lamp & sees the use of some new and interesting technology
The Airswitch TC uses an invisible beam to judge the distance between your hand and the top of the Airswich to turn on, turn off and brighten & dim the product - thus the name 'Airswitch'
You turn the Air switch TC on and off by passing your hand horizontally through the air above the light. To dim and brighten move your hand vertically up and down as in the picture above & left
It really is as simple as that - and whats more its quite fun too!

USING THE AIRSWITCH TC
POSITIONING
- Place the Airswitch TC in an area that gives at least 1.5m free space above it.
- Do not position Air switch TC under another light fitting or in a very bright environment.
- The Airswitch TC is to designed to self calibrate to its position for the first 2 minutes it is switched on. During this period the operation may be erratic. The longer Airswitch remains in one position the better the operation will be.
- Place Airswitch TC on a flat surface
OPERATION
- Airswitch TC is controlled by an invisible beam.
- Control the lamp with your hand in the beam.
- Move your hand slowly, but not too slowly.
SWITCH ON OR OFF
- Switch Air switch TC on or off by moving your hand horizontally over the top of the
- Airswitch TC is designed to fade on and off.
- Memorises the last brightness setting
BRIGHTEN & DIM
Firstly ensure the light is switched on
To Brighten:
Place your hand above the Air switch TC in the invisible beam.
To achieve maximum brightness start with you hand approximately 2cm above the lamp and move it slowly upwards to approximately 30cm/1ft from the top of the light, taking care to keep your hand in the beam.
To Dim:
Place your hand directly above the light source in the invisible beam. To dim the light fully start the movement with your hand approx. 30cm from the top of the light and move it slowly downwards towards the top of the light, taking care to keep your hand in the beam.
